Things Gary has done today:
Passed the swallow test.
Had some of his tubes removed.
Walked numerous times (close to 2o) around the nurses’ station.
Got busted for not wearing nonskid socks on one of his walks.
Pleaded drug induced forgetfulness (re: the socks) rather than explain that the aid had forgotten to give them back to him after his shower.
Hallucinated/dreamed that this blog had been compromised and there were holly trees in the URL, which caused the internet to go to a holly farm. He apparently spent a fair amount of time trying to figure out how to fix this.
Got the good news from the doctor that things are going well and he should be able to go home this weekend.
Terrific news. Glad for all of you, including Molly, that Gary will be home. I’m sure Anne will see that he has the correct socks as he wanders around the house!
Great news all around! Especially that swallow test. One does not want to fail the swallow test! We are so happy for you all that things look rosy. Keep the right socks on, though! Wood floors can be slippery. All the best from us Wisconsonites.
Though from afar, we have been carefully tracking Gary’s progress. Absolutely thrilled for him, Anne, Molly, et al. And thank you, Marcia, for the updates.
